Since technologies continuously evolve, our HelioNOTE range of inks is especially tailored for the production of banknotes and covers both the inks for all the relevant banknote printing processes as well as pigments that can be added to security threads.

HelioNOTE inks distinguish themselves from the competition by their printability, low waste levels and their durability on the final product. We offer the full range of banknote inks including for intaglio, offset, screen or numbering processes on all currently installed equipment. Apart from this we can also supply you with our highly durable overprint varnish.

In terms of security, we can offer inks that have overt effects, like Colour Shift, covert features, like our Infrared ASPECT range, or special forensic properties for high-speed sorting machines, securing your banknotes at all levels.

Over the past decades our inks enjoyed an increasing interest from banknote printers and substrate manufacturers around the world and our technologies can now be found in banknotes that circulate in more than 50 countries.

We are convinced that we can help you to increase your efficiency and competitiveness when you use our technologies.

COLOUR SHIFTING INKS

Colour Shifting Inks, also known as Optically Variable Inks, are used on billions of banknotes around the world. Luminescence Sun Chemical Security offers two types of Colour Shift Inks; firstly we offer our single-tone inks that show a clear pearlescent effect and that are used by paper mills to print a continuous stripe design on the substrate.

Secondly we offer our Hi-Sec Colour Shift Inks which are dedicated for use on banknotes and are available in a wide range of colour combinations. These inks display two distinct colours depending on the angle the note is viewed at and therefore offers an easy and effective means of authentication to the general public.

To have the best effect Colour Shifting Inks should be printed in large, bold patterns or letters. You will often see the value of the note printed in these inks. Fine intricate designs are more difficult to print and make the optical effect less dramatic.

These inks can be applied in the Intaglio or Screen printing process and formulated as water based, solvent based or UV cured inks.
